Exclusive: Macron seeks to draw Trump to G7 with post-summit invite to Versailles

French President Emmanuel Macron has invited U.S. President Donald Trump to a dinner at the Palace of Versailles the day after a G7 summit in mid-June, although it is unclear if he will attend either event. The invitation is intended to celebrate the two nations' shared history and celebrate the United States' 250th anniversary celebrations on July 4. A no-show at the G7 would be a significant embarrassment for Macron and potentially disrupt the G.
