Dani Korkis has been sentenced to four years and eight months in state prison for the hit-and-run crash that severely injured a 12-year-old boy in El Cajon. The boy, identified only as Richard, was left with multiple serious injuries, including a broken leg and arm, and lost several teeth in the collision. The accident occurred on Ballantyne Street on October 22 and was tracked down through a license plate reader system outside his parents' smoke shop in Lakeside. Prosecutors said surveillance video showed Korkas telling his parents he had hit someone and then leaving the scene without stopping to check on the victim or call 911. Korki's attorney, Greg Turner, said Korksi was remorseful and accepted responsibility for the accident.
