The Trump administration is losing in its attempts to punish prominent law firms that have worked with its perceived enemies. Despite initially stating that it would not be pursuing cases against Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Jenner & Block, and Susman Godfrey, these efforts have not been successful. The Justice Department then reversed course and moved to pursue the appeals. This is part of a larger trend of the administration being incompetent and malevolent. Despite installing an array of ideologically-aligned judges, many believe in the rule of law and constitutional directives like the First Amendment, the majority of judges have consistently thwarted the administration's unlawful actions.
