Hope Mills police in North Carolina have said that during a police chase with a stolen vehicle, an officer was shot at by the suspect, identified as J'Quan Fitzgerald. The vehicle was reported stolen by the Fayetteville Police Department and three officers were involved in pursuit. Fitzgerald fired his weapon from the SUV during the chase, throwing it out the window before being taken into custody. Court records indicate that Fitzgerald was wanted by F.ayetteville police in connection with a robbery investigation from January 17. He remains in jail under no bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 16.
