The Oregon state attorney general is urging federal judges to stop a new restriction on the abortion drug mifepristone. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has halted medical providers from sending the drug to prescribed patients, forcing them to undergo an in-person clinic visit. The drug was used in nearly 63% of abortions performed in Oregon in 2000. An appeal to the Supreme Court is likely.
