Alyssa Singleton's walk-off double gave Manteno a 6-5 win over Pontiac, giving the Panthers a 2-1 deficit in the seventh inning of a game against Pontiac. The senior leadoff hitter lined the ball over the head of center fielder Kenzie Fetgatter to score two runs and secure a win for the Panthers. The win puts Manteno ahead of their next game against Peone in the Illinois Central Eight Conference. The Panthers had a two-run lead in the fifth inning but lost the game to Pontiac after a one-run deficit. Head coach Josh Carlile praised Singleton for his efforts to improve at the plate during offseason hitting lessons.
