Parable Lutheran Church on Treasure Island was severely damaged by hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2000. Renovations were completed in time for the Easter holiday. The church had to relocate and install new office space after extensive damage. Some parishioners had to leave their homes due to the damage. The restoration has been a symbol of Easter, with church members describing it as a sign that hard times won't last forever. The congregation continues to worship at other churches.
