Honor's concept robot phone could be an elegant solution for capturing photos without carrying a significant amount of gear. The device, tucked into the regular Android phone, features a robotic camera module that pops out, making it more akin to a DJI Osmo Pocket 3. This could replace carrying a dedicated camera and a gimbal, allowing for high-quality video while walking around city streets. The main screen of the phone would allow for a large display to monitor video while recording and reviewing it afterwards. Honor also revealed that it is working with cinema company Arri, maker of cameras like the Alexa, to create a cinematic aesthetic to smartphone imaging. The phone is currently in the concept stage but could be on sale as soon as the second half of the year.
