State official: Louisiana needs election workers for spring congressional races

Sherri Wharton Hadskey, commissioner of elections for the Secretary of State’s Office, said the shortages are affecting precincts across the state. Most workers typically sign up for presidential elections, but interest decreases after they do so. The department is using this information to spread the word about the need for election workers and use compensation as a factor for recruitment. The job requires online training and early voting commissioners earn $150 per day for seven days, excluding Sundays.
