Second-year flamethrower Grant Taylor has been successful in most of his one-inning outings early this season for the Chicago White Sox. However, general manager Chris Getz has stated that they are not expecting any more traditional starts from Taylor this season. They are aiming for about 100 innings from Taylor over the course of the season, while "there are different ways" to achieve this, it won't include traditional starts. Taylor, who pushed for a starting opportunity in the offseason, has struck out 10 batters in 8 ⅓ innings. The team is looking to fill the versatility gap left by Mike Vasil, who is down for the season. Additionally, Everson Pereira returned to the team after a brief rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Charlotte due to a sprained ankle.
