The Elyria Police Department responded to a report of a child abduction and stolen vehicle in the early hours of Friday morning. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, had been traveling with her 6-year old child and the child's father, Luis Manuel Gonzalez Rodriguez, during an argument at a gas station. Luis allegedly began driving away with the child still inside and continued to flee the scene with both child and vehicle. When Luis was located, it was determined that he had no custodial rights to the child. The child was safely recovered and reunited with his mother.
