Security experts at "TrustedSec" have warned of several scams targeting college basketball tournament fans. One is fake ticket sales, which often sell screenshots that don't scan once at the ticket gate. Another is bogus bracket challenges, where users are asked to join a fictitious bracket. These scams are usually promoted through social media. Other scams include fraudulent sports betting sites or apps that mimic real gambling services. Malicious notifications and alerts (SMS, email, direct messages, and messaging apps) sent by cybercriminals to steal consumers' information or money. The most vulnerable is those who don't actively use their accounts.
