The pilot of a single-engine Cessna aircraft was hospitalized after his plane apparently struck power lines and crashed into an auto-parts store parking lot in Pacoima. The aircraft is registered to a flight school based out of the Whiteman Airport in California. The pilot was pulled from the wreckage and taken to a hospital in critical condition. The FAA will investigate the accident. Some community members have called for the closure of the airport due to environmental concerns and a potential fatal crash.
