The bill also includes a ban on men in women’s sports and transgender surgeries for children. The president has called on the Senate to pass the bill, stating that it is more important than everything else else. However, Sen. John Thune, the Republican majority leader, said he lacks the required 60 votes to proceed to a final vote.
