Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has initiated a criminal investigation into OpenAI’s ChatGPT over allegations that the company provided advice to the suspected gunman in the Florida State University shooting. Former federal prosecutor Neema Rahmani, president of West Coast Trial Lawyers, said the investigation is unusual as it is criminal rather than civil. He noted that prosecutors generally need to prove a company's involvement in aiding and aiding a shooter or a murderer rather than simply acting negligently.
