A power outage interrupted a presentation on a potential community solar project for Harvey, forcing the postponement of a preliminary City Council vote on the project. The proposal is from Marquis Matilla, who runs a business that develops community solar projects in underserved communities. Matilla's business, Evolved Living, would develop a solar farm that feeds energy back to ComEd’s grid and all subscribers would benefit from this. The first step to judge the project's viability would be a feasibility study, which Matilla said will determine the size of the solar farm. The project was made possible by a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
