Princeton, Public Library Reach Last-Minute Deal To Close $149K Budget Gap

The Municipality of Princeton and the Princeton Public Library have reached an agreement to close a $149,000 budget gap, which had been an issue for months. The municipality will increase its library contribution by $75,000 and the library will raise the remaining $75k through restructuring its employee parking permits and fundraising efforts. The agreement ends a months-long standoff between the two institutions. The library, which is the third-largest municipal expenditure, has already reduced its hours and limited its streaming services to reduce costs.
