The process of building a golf course at Querencia in Los Cabos, Mexico, has taken years to begin, with the first international design from legendary course architect Tom Fazio. Campo Alto, which opened in 2001, has been years in the making and has been named No. 73 of the World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses for 2022-2023 by Golf Digest. While Campo Bajo's design is lauded for its rugged terrain and low-growth vegetation, the construction of Campo Alt has been delayed for years. The course is expected to open by the end of this year and will be more of a second-shot golf course than Campo. However, there are differences in the course's landscaping and grass usage, with each course featuring different grass types.
