Khaleel Carey, a 22-year-old man from Broward County, is accused of leaving a fatal hit-and-run accident that left a woman dead. Surveillance video shows Carey driving a black 2016 Nissan Maxima northbound on Northwest Ninth Avenue with a broken light and damage. He allegedly covered the damage to his vehicle with a tarp to hide it from his parents. Carey was arrested and charged with failure to stop and remain at the scene of an accident, a first-degree felony, and tampering with evidence. A bond court judge ordered Carey to avoid driving, surrender his passport, and remain on house arrest with a GPS.
