The New York Jets are set to hold a private workout with Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson on Friday. The Jets are expected to select second and 16th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft next month. Despite questions about Simpson's selection, he believes he has done enough to be a first-round pick. ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky believes Simpson is a better quarterback than Fernando Mendoza, who is expected to be selected by the Raiders with the No. 1 overall pick. Simpson completed 64.5% of his passes last season for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Despite his impressive stats, there are concerns about his 6-1 frame and his ability to withstand the rigors and physicality of NFL.
