A man in South Gloucestershire, England, has been fined nearly £1,900 after pleading guilty to illegal dumping, a practice known as "fly-tipping". The court handed down a £500 ($681) penalty, £1.194 in costs, and a £200 ($273) surcharge for victims. The practice carries severe penalties and is considered unsightly and can damage the environment and attract anti-social activities. Constantine Parinescu, who could have easily dropped off his bags for free at a nearby council recycling center, was tracked down to his home and confessed to the crime.
