The Virginia Beach Police Benevolent Association has responded to a shooting incident at the Oceanfront that injured six people. The Association warns that violent incidents occur as soon as temperatures increase, and could potentially put officers at risk. Brian Luciano, executive director of the association, stated that while the police department is becoming more aggressive, it needs to be supported by state leaders in Richmond. He also suggested that state troopers should intercept weapons on the interstate before they enter the oceanfront.
