The Army Chief Hegseth Ousted—and the General Who’s Taking Over

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ousted Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George and two other generals in relation to the U.S.-Israel war with Iran. The move is part of a broader overhaul of U.K. military leadership since President Donald Trump returned to the White House. George will be replaced by Gen. Christopher LaNeve as acting chief of staff. The other generals were Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., and the commander of Army Transformation and Training Command, Gen. David Hodne. The Pentagon did not provide a reason for the three firings. The firings came a day after Trump delivered an address on the war against Iran, which he said would bring Iran "back to the stone ages where they belong"
