Good Vibes Only: Bel Air High alumnus earns fashion scholarship from designer Michael Kors

18-year-old Oscar Borges has been awarded the Michael Kors Endowed Scholarship from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Borges graduated from Bel Air High School where he was involved in numerous school activities. He was the senior class president, a student council officer, and the president of the fashion design club. Despite initially aiming to be an OB/GYN, Borges decided to pursue fashion after high school. He learned to sew and create patterns under the direction of Barbara Pence and later competed in regional and state competitions. The full-ride scholarship covers a year-long study in Milan.
