'Game of Thrones: The Mad King' play sets premiere date

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that a stage adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones: The Mad King will debut on July 20 and will continue performances through August 5. The play, written by Duncan Macmillan and directed by Dominic Cooke, is a prequel to the last years of King Aerys II Targaryen, who led to Robert's Rebellion and paved the way for the main events of the series. Tickets for the play are available for purchase later this month due to high demand.
