Proton's CEO, Andy Yen, believes that the rise of AI technology has led to increased privacy and safety concerns, particularly in the last year, as it makes it easier for cybercriminals to steal your data and enables mass surveillance. Despite this, Yen believes that education will help to address these issues. He also highlighted a generational mismatch between privacy awareness and tech adoption, particularly among middle-aged people who are less tech-savvy and more exposed to tech technology. Yen believes the next generation is better prepared for the world AI is creating, despite apathy among younger people. He believes that while AI is becoming more powerful, more people are likely to want to stay private.
