Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn) is set to introduce a bill that would give the courts a greater role in reviewing antitrust settlements. The Antitrust Accountability and Transparency Act would give judges more time to review antitrust settlements, require the government to disclose more information about the settlement process, and allow state attorneys general to intervene in the judicial review process. The bill is co-sponsored by eight other Democratic senators and is supported by companion legislation in the House from Rep. Jamie Raspin. It comes after concerns were raised about the Department of Justice's recent settlement with Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster.
