Southern University's marching band has been featured in a national spotlight as part of a project tied to Michael Jackson's legacy. The band performed a rendition of "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" by Lionsgate and a special screening of the film was held in Baton Rouge. Band Director Kedric Taylor said the opportunity was one the band couldn't pass up and represents a broader light on historically Black colleges and universities. University leaders believe this opportunity can boost recruitment and retention, while also attract future investment. The film, Michael, is set to release on April 24.
