Marion County Inmate Convicted of Strangling Cellmate to Death

A Marion County jail inmate, D'Angelo Smith, has been convicted of murdering his cellmate, Charles Barron, in 2022. After the murder, Smith attempted to stage the death as a suicide attempt using a bedsheet and a pair of pants. He later admitted to the crime. The sentencing will be on April 22.
