Two parole officers in Utah, Nick Parker and Kelten Larsen, saved the lives of two unconscious men, two cats and a dog from a carbon monoxide leak at a home where they were making their rounds of field visits. The Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) stated that while they were conducting routine field visits, Parker and Larsen were alerted to an emergency call about a 37-year-old man who was unconscious and breathing strangely. They arrived at the home and found two men unconscious in a hallway between a bedroom and a bathroom, but quickly realized something was not right with the space around them. Despite their physical difficulties, they refused to abandon their rescue efforts. The rescued men were taken to a hospital for treatment. The incident occurred on April 28 and authorities later learned that a generator had been running inside the home, leading to a dangerous carbon monoxoxoxine leak.
