Travelers face long wait times at Charlotte airport as partial government shutdown continues

The partial government shutdown has left more than 50,000 TSA employees working without pay, many of whom did not show up without a deal in place to fund their department. Since Feb. 14, the Department of Homeland Security has been operating without a budget. Long queues and long wait times have been reported at major airports across the country, with some waiting over three hours. The decision on when TSA workers will receive their normal paychecks remains uncertain.
