Terrence Thornton, CEO of Special Olympics Nevada, shares his personal experiences as a teacher, mentor, and financial manager. His organization offers free programs and initiatives to engage people with intellectual disabilities and their peers in activities together to foster respect, shared learning and acceptance. Thornton, who became CEO in 2024, shares a vision for the organization to be recognized as a premier place for individuals with intellectual disability and their families and caregivers to find inclusive programs, support, and community support. He also shares his vision for empowering athletes to lead and inspire communities through the power of inclusion and sport. The organization's mission is to address community needs and address challenges that can only be resolved through creative solutions.
