What an ex-Trump administration official’s comments could mean for the trial of Tyler Robinson

Former National Counterterrorism Center Director, Joe Kent, has stated that there is still a case against alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson, but he also suspects others could be involved. Kent, who recently left his position as director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, claimed that when his team tried to investigate Kirk's death, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation barred them from doing so. However, Benjamin Williamson, assistant director for public affairs at the FBI, said Kent's former position gave him zero authority to investigate the death of Kirk. Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of "The Charlie Kirk Show," said that Kent's move from federal official to possible trial witness crossed a line. Legal expert Greg Skordas said Kent’s comments could help the defense argue that the state can prove the trigger on the gun.
