The NBA is set to hold a vote next week to approve expansion teams in Las Vegas and Seattle. If 23 of the 30 team governors approve, the NBA can focus solely on adding teams in these markets and begin the bidding process. The new franchises would reportedly be valued at $7-10 billion. This would make the NBA the second major North American sports league with 32 teams, following the 2004 expansion of the Charlotte Bobcats. The expansion could lead to either the Minnesota Timberwolves or Memphis Grizzlies moving to the Eastern Conference if approved.
