California's Highway 1, California's longest state route, the Big Sur Coast Highway, has been known as the PCH and the Cabrillo Highway. The highway stretches from SoCal town of Dana Point to Mendocino County, California, stretches from the Redwoods of Leggett in Mendocio County to the rest of the state. It was created over the last century as a scenic, sexier alternative to US Route 101 and has been closed due to rainstorm-fueled rockslides, landslides, and mudslides for the past three years. However, in mid-January, it reopened after several thunderstorms caused it to reopen due to thunderstorms. The Bixby Bridge, home to the most celebrated star of "Big Little Lies" after Reese Witherspoon, is also a significant part of the highway. The 656-mile-long highway stretches stretches west of US 101 along the coast and runs concurrent with its heated rival, the 101.
