Pro-Iran war activists are creating a conspiracy theory suggesting that Tucker Carlson is working for the Iranian government. The claim was made after an anonymous X account claimed that President Donald Trump used Carlson's connections to entice Iran's leadership into a false sense of security in the lead-up to U.S. strikes. However, there is no evidence to suggest that Carlson is actually working for Tehran. The pro-Iran right has attempted to portray Carlson as an antisemitic mouthpiece for foreign Islamist regimes and a subversive element within the MAGA movement. The theory began taking root when Carlson claimed that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was monitoring his text messages, which led to claims of a criminal referral to the Department of Justice (DOJ) against him.
