The left is using the “Dignity Index” in an effort to disempower conservatives and force Republicans to surrender. The device is fronted by Kennedy relative Tim Shriver, who appears on Fox News as a reasonable moderate Democrat. Shriver argues that politicians should treat their opponents with respect and restore civility to public life. However, this is seen as a weak attempt to delegitimize Republicans and distract from their own agenda. The left has portrayed Trump as the cause for division and disharmony in the country. They want the pre-Trump Republican Party that played by the rules and criticized Democrat insanity like open borders and transgender surgery for minors.
