Convicted rapist and murderer to soon be out of prison as Gavin Newsom refuses to stop release

San Luis Obispo County prosecutors are criticizing California Gov. Gavin Newsom for refusing to intervene in the parole of Alberto Tamez, a convicted murderer who served more than 50 years for a 1974 murder and kidnapping, raping and murdering Genevieve Adaline Moreno, who was found strangled and strangled in a grove of eucalyptus trees. District Attorney Dan Dow accused Newsom of a failure of California’s criminal justice system and a denial of justice for the victim. He also stated that his office fought the release at every stage and argued that Tameiz's responsibility for the killing. As of May 8, Tamezy remains in prison at the California Men’�s Colony in San Luis Obespo County as release procedures continue.
