Sierra Pacific girls, San Joaquin Memorial boys bring home State basketball titles

The Sierra Pacific girls' basketball team won its second State championship in program history, beating St. Joseph (Santa Maria) 56-47. The Golden Bears had taken a 20-9 lead through one quarter, but the Ayuen sisters combined for 39 points. Sophomore point guard Lylah Love was named game MVP with 13 points. The San Joaquin Memorial boys' team won 46-45 against Bakersfield Christian, marking their second State title in four years. The victory was also celebrated by senior Parker Spees and Sajjin Sidhu, who were previously on the 2023 State title team.
