Patrick Stewart, known for his portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in "Star Trek: The Next Generation," has named his favorite Star Trek movie, "First Contact," directed by Jonathan Frakes. Frakes also played William Riker on "The Next Generation" and started his feature-length directorial teeth on "First Strike." Stewart credits Frakes' understanding of diversity and change in the portrayal of the characters. After the movies, Frakes went on to helm episodes of several different shows and will also be behind the camera for the TV series "Star Starfleet Academy."
