The union, IATSE (IATSE) has called a strike against the production of Jonathan Majors' upcoming untitled action film, Action Flick, following safety concerns that led to several crew members walking off the South Carolina set of the film. The union initially attempted to sign a contract with the production to secure payment into the union's health and pension funds, but concerns escalated as safety concerns grew over the production's five-week period. The strike began after Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne accidentally fell out of a window during filming a scene, which was replaced with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass to be purposefully shattered in a later stunt. The incident was captured on video obtained by Deadline. Despite these incidents, crew members who have since stopped work on the production have expressed their concerns about props falling onto crew and the use of firearms. Producers deny these allegations, stating they "don't negotiate with communists" and do not feel unsafe on set. The crew also raised concerns about the safety of special effects supervisor Chris Bailey, who was convicted of illegal possession of explosive materials on a movie set.
