Published on April 29, 2026.
Alphanso Talley, a defendant in a police shooting case, was on electronic monitoring after being paroled from the Illinois Department of Corrections in January and had been serving sentences for aggravated battery to a police officer and possession of a stolen vehicle. The assistant state’s attorney on the case stated that there had been some issues with Talley violating his electronic monitoring terms but as of Feb. 19, the judge agreed to modify the terms of Talley’s monitoring to allow for a dentist appointment. Governor JB Pritzker has urged the Illinois General Assembly's watchdog to speed up its investigation into Rep. Harry Benton.
