Check Point Software (NASDAQ:CHKP) has warned that cyber operations are becoming increasingly intertwined with geopolitical events. As tensions rise across several regions, cyberattacks are escalating in parallel, targeting telecom networks, infrastructure systems and energy assets. Sergey Shykevich, Threat Intelligence group manager at Check Point, stated that AI is helping attackers automate operations and scale attacks faster than traditional methods allow. He also noted that state-backed cyber groups are increasingly targeting sectors capable of causing widespread disruption, such as telecommunications networks and critical infrastructure. The most concerning cyber incidents will likely involve attacks on financial systems or infrastructure capable of disrupting everyday life.
