Michigan's Yaxel Lendeborg, a 6-foot-9 senior forward, is set to play in the Final Four after a remarkable six-year journey from a warehouse worker to a junior college where his mother, Yissel Raposo, forced him to attend junior college. He spent three years at Arizona Western College, two years at UAB, and now this season at Michigan. Despite initially committing to St. John’s, he ended up decomposing and transferring to UAB when coach Mike Anderson was fired. Lendeorg has led Michigan to a 35-3 record and was named Big Ten Player of the Year by the Associated Press and the Midwest Region Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA Tournament.
