TCL is taking over Sony’s TV business

Sony has announced that it will take over its TV business from TCL for approximately 75.4 billion yen (over $473 million) to create a new joint venture called Bravia Inc., with Sony holding the remaining 49 percent. The new subsidiary will be headquartered in Sony’s Osaki office in Tokyo and is expected to begin operations in April 2027. The deal also includes the purchase of Sony EMCS (Malaysia) Sdn., a subsidiary for manufacturing Sony's home entertainment products.
