Suspect in attack on Michigan synagogue was naturalized U.S. citizen

The suspect, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, was identified as a 41-year-old naturalized citizen born in Lebanon and later transferred to the U.S. from Lebanon. He was fatally shot by security officers after driving into a hallway at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township near Detroit, Michigan, before his vehicle caught fire. The attack was not immediately disclosed as a motive. No staff, teachers, or children at the synagogue were injured. The FBI has described the attack as a "targeted act of violence against the Jewish community" and is leading the investigation.
