Why Ben Rice isn’t in lineup despite Yankees’ faith he can hit lefties

The New York Yankees have decided to give Ben Rice chances to face lefty starters in their second lineup of the season, despite some fans' concerns. The team believes Rice can perform well against lefties, despite hitting only 208 with a.752 OPS against them last season. This decision was made by Aaron Boone to use all of his right-handed bench bats against lefty players in order to avoid missing nearly two weeks of games. The Yankees also added Randal Grichuk to their lineup this season, replacing their previous lefty-heavy lineup with three righty bats.
