Andre Weston, the alleged murderer of 58-year-old William Vann, has been accused of setting him on fire nearly five years after Vann died from third degree burns all over his body. The prosecution claims that Weston doused Vann with gasoline and then flicked a lit cigarette onto him, leading to the inferno that would kill him. The trial began on Tuesday, with Deputy District Attorney Margaret Watts stating that two eyewitnesses will identify Weston and his DNA was found next to where the fire started. The defense attorney for Weston urged the jury not to rush to judgment and expects Weston to be acquitted.
