Donte DiVincenzo, a Timberwolves guard, has joined local shelter Ruff Start Rescue in an effort to find a home for rescue dogs. This initiative is part of his larger effort to raise awareness about adoption of rescue dogs and to help dogs find homes when people might not otherwise think to adopt one. DiVC began his interest in adopting rescue dogs when he was a child and adopted a Dachshund/terrier pug mix named Shorty while at Villanova. He and his girlfriend have been successful in finding homes for each dog so far this season, with pictures of the dogs being shared on social media. DiVINCenzo hopes to eliminate fear and hesitation in adopting dogs and educate people about designer breeding of dogs, which often end up in shelters at a higher rate than people may think.
