The gilded Upper East Side townhouse that once served as the personal palace of Ivana Trump has sold for $14 million, a nearly 50% listing discount from its original asking price of $26.5 million. The property, purchased by Ivana in 1992 for about $2.5m, underwent extensive redesign including extensive use of marble, animal prints, crystal chandeliers and heavy gilt detailing. The home's asking price was reduced to $17.9 million by the end of its run. The new owner is not yet known. Despite this, the sale adds to a recent spate of high-profile townhouse sales.
